„Lust auf Angst“ Künstlersymposion in Eickelborn, 14. bis 16. April 1997

Die Autoren beschreiben in Form einer Textmontage aus Konzeptionszitaten und der Chronologie der Ereignisse ein Künstlersymposium im Westfälischen Zentrum für Forensische Psychiatrie Lippstadt, zu welchem sich neben arrivierten Künstlern aus dem internationalen Kunstbetrieb künstlerisch tätige ehemalige Patienten aus der deutschen Psychiatrie und Untergebrachte des Maßregelvollzugs zum dreitägigen gemeinsamen Schaffen und Gedankenaustausch mit der Themenstellung „Lust auf Angst“ treffen wollten. Mit diesem Symposium sollte ein kontrapunktischer Beitrag zur Debatte um psychisch kranke Rechtsbrecher einerseits sowie andererseits der bedeutende Therapiewert künstlerischen Schaffens herausgestellt werden.

Abstract

By way of a montage of texts consisting of quotations from rough notes concerning their concept and the chronological sequence of events, the authors describes an art symposium which took place at the Westphalian Centre for Forensic Psychiatry in Lippstadt. In addition to artists, who have already made names for themselves internationally, former patients from German psychiatric departments or those imprisoned by the law, who are also active in some form of art, wanted to take part in this symposium, which was to consist of three days of joint artistic production and an exchange of ideas. The theme for the meeting was: „ln the Mood for Fear“. The idea behind the symposium was to create a contrapuntal aspect to the debate on criminals who are psychically ill on the one hand and the important therapy value of artistic production on the other.

Résumé

Les auteurs décrivent un symposium d’artistes au <<Westfälisches Zentrum für Forensische Psychiatrie>> à Lippstadt. Ils présentent un montage de textes en enlaçant des citations des programmes et la description de la cronologie des événements. Et pour des artistes renommés dans les milieux internationaux d’art, et pour des malades artistes autrefois internés dans une institution psychiatrique allemande ou pour des malades internés dans une institution médico-légale, ce symposium de trois jours donnait l’occasion d’une création artistique commune et d’un échange d’idées: Le sujet était: <<Envie d’angoisse>>. Le symposium était d’un part une contribution contrapuntique à la discussion sur les délinquants malades mentaux, d’autre part, il avait pour but de mettre en évidence l’importance de l’art-thérapie.
