Nr. 2 - 2. Quartal 1995The Importance of Crossmatch Procedures with the Recipient's Historical (Noncurrent) SeraH. K. G. Machulla, A. Schaaf, M. Hentschel, K. Kloß, U. Fischer, B. Pohle, V. Tesar, S. VogtBy means of selected case reports is shown a chance to improve the crossmatch procedure by the use of the historical sera of prospective kidney recipients taking in consideration their known historical anti-HLA specificities. Furthermore, the sensitivity of a crossmatch can be increased in individual cases by a prolonged time of incubation and/or by the use of different donor cell populations. Moreover, the importance of non cytotoxic alloantibodies is demonstrated. Keywords:Kidney transplantation, crossmatch, HLA, alloantibody Kurztitel:Machulla, H. K. G. et al. (1995) TxMed 2:104 Dr. H.
