Abstract:
The aetiology of cardiac transplant associated coronary artery
disease can be visualised as consisting of two events: -
Recognition and damage to allografted coronary endothelial cells
by the immune system. - Activated or damaged endothelial cells
resulting in intimal proliferation. The possibility that part of
the pathology of chronic rejection includes an autoimmune
component is not implausible.
Keywords:

endothelial antigen, adhesion molecule, lymphocytotoxic antibody,
non-lymphocytotoxic antibody, autoimmune response
